So your child is going to Camp Highland! What will they be doing? What should they bring? Is it going to be cold there or is it hot? Are you in the mountains or in the desert? Is it going to rain or will it be sunny? Where exactly is Camp Highland anyway?

We want your child to be prepared for all Camp Highland has to offer. We will do our part to make sure that your child is in a supportive, safe and fun growing environment....

But what will they need? Here is a list of the "brings" and "don't brings." Your help is greatly appreciated. PLEASE, do not pack any medications in your child's bag, whether prescription or non-prescription! All medications should be handed to their teachers with the proper paperwork.

What to Bring!!

Please try to have all of your child's things contained into one suitcase and one bedroll. Remember that they will be responsible for carrying their own luggage from the bus to their cabin when they arrive to Camp Highland.

A bedroll should contain one pillow and one sleeping bag rolled up and placed in a garbage bag for rain protection. Label the bag with your child's name and school. If you do not have a sleeping bag, bring sheets and a blanket instead. The bunks all have regular twin sized mattresses.

Everything else should be contained in a single suitcase and maybe a small backpack:

Clothing:

  • Shoes - two pairs
  • Long Pants; no baggy style or capri - 3+ pairs
  • Waterproof raingear or poncho
  • Socks
  • Underwear
  • Pajamas
  • T-shirts - NO tank tops
  • Shorts - 1 pair for in the cabin only
  • Sweater or Sweatshirt
  • Warm Jacket, Gloves and Hat for cooler months
