CHOSS has an incredibly diverse representation of flora and fauna and not to mention tons of chaparral. We share the property with Highland Springs Resort, and working and living here is definitely an enjoyable experience. We have access to the resorts swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzi (open seasonally May through Oct) workout room, tennis and basketball courts, and best of all The Grand Oak Steakhouse & Bar. Yes there is a restaurant and bar on property!!! |
We are approx 90 miles east of LA & Hollywood, 50 miles from Joshua Tree National Park and even closer 25 miles from Palm Springs. Southern California is an amazing place to work and live and CHOSS is in a great location to explore everything. |

WARNING: As great as CHOSS is, being an Outdoor Educator here or anywhere else for that matter is not an easy job. Seriously it isn't. Teaching elementary school students is extremely challenging, and you must have the stamina and a positive attitude and mentality to effectively teach them. At CHOSS we work hard and play even harder (usually on weekends J), always maintaining the emphasis on safety, learning and fun which also happen to be the three goals of the program. All staff help maintain program equipment, do maintenance, clean showers, bathrooms and even scrub toilets J. Ever interview for a job over the telephone and it sounds too good to be true, sign a contract, accept the position, show up and after the first day realize "OMG" you made a really big mistake? Please read our FAQ section carefully. It is our attempt to provide FULL DISCLOSURE so the situation described precisely DOES NOT HAPPEN TO YOU. After reading our FAQs if you feel this program and the position is suitable and a good fit follow the application process below. Our program is creative, innovative, flexible and dynamic and we need individuals with similar traits. If you are tolerant and react to situations and people positively you should definitely apply to work at CHOSS!
